Borg :: The Battlehorse ORGanizer

Borg is a ruby on rails application I have written to manage this website. It offers various functionalities:

  • wiki with easy markup (textile) and internal links
  • page metadata
  • blog
  • tagging (now you can navigate through them and group them in clouds, see here ! )
  • breadcrumbs
  • templates and layouts
  • hierarchical sidebars and toolbars
  • no database required. Flat files to store both contents and metadata
  • user comments with captchas and gravatars (more info here ).
  • Google analytics integration (more info here ).
  • Google Talk chatback integration (more info here).
  • Authentication framework based upon OpenID (more info here ).

Many features are still missing, such as authorization profiles and proper web file management capabilities. There are also a lot of bug floating around ( such as correct Internet Explorer rendering) ...

I will soon publish the whole contents on SVN ( update (27-Jan) : Borg has been published on an internal svn: contact me if you’re interested in contributing to the development ).

Download available for early adopters

If you want to experiment with and try Borg, you can download it by clicking this link . The list of all previous releases is available here .

Keep in mind that it is a very early release. Code is a mess and there are probably tons of bugs! Use this page to comment about the project and provide further ideas!
