Borg 3.2 is out

Quick post to announce the release of Borg version 3.2. Borg is the minimalistic cms and blog engine that powers this website. The release includes a new visual theme, kennedy, inspired by the Google+ look and feel. As usual, the new theme supports both desktop, tablet and smartphone users. Borg 3.1 is out, and on github

I have released a new version of the Borg CMS that powers this blog (and is free for anyone to use for their own sites). Among the major new features: improved readability for the theme you are currently looking at, improved rendering support for tablets (including the Xoom) and smartphones, new support for draft pages and license notices and more bugfixes. Also, borg is now 100% hosted on github. You can find it here.

After more than one and a half year, I’ve released a new version of Borg, v3.0. Borg is a minimalistic CMS I wrote to manage this site and made available as opensource to anyone interested in using it or contributing to it.

Borg 2.5 is out!

A new and improved version of Borg, v2.5, has been released! Borg is a minimalistic CMS I wrote to manage this site and made available as opensource to anyone interested in using it or contributing to it. As you can see from the new look’n’feel (much whiter, much cleaner), the biggest change is the introduction of customizable graphic templates. Two are provided by default: InternetSharing, by Solucija and CoolWater, by StyleShout.

Borg 2.0 is out!

As you may see from the completely new look’n’feel for the website, a new version of the Borg CMS has been released! This is a major rewrite of the Borg framework that preserves all the existing functionality and adds a lot of new features. A detailed post about the new features will arrive soon, along with the instructions to download the source code from the new SVN repository.

Ruby quick'n'dirty Captcha


As you probably know, this site you’re looking at right now relies on the Borg platform . Since Borg is still in its very early stage of development, I’m starting to address some of its current limitations. For example, user comments are still missing, but you cannot enable user comments without some sort of protection from spambots. Therefore, here come captchas .

It will take a bit of time to rebuild everything, since in the meantime I’ve also moved to a new wiki/blog/project management framework, built by myself in the last few days, called Borg .
